A somewhat older restoration, where the drivetrain has also been modernised. This beautiful van with ripple bonnet drives very smoothly and easily, but has still retained its classic character.
In 1993 the French tax was still paid, in 1996 it was registered in the Netherlands. Somewhere in between it was probably abducted from its home country, probably from Levroux in the Indre department.
The floor panels and pedal box were replaced, the exterior was resprayed in its original colour. The interior has retained its original, slightly lighter paint, as well as the stamp with the load capacity.
Originally it had a 12 hp engine and oldskool drive shafts, desperately spluttering and shaking this set brought the car to 80 km/h. During the restoration an 18 hp engine was prepared so that it delivered even more power. The gearbox was adapted to this, and modern drive shafts were used to make it complete.
The result is a relaxed, purring engine that takes you further towards 100 km/h, with the drive shafts not shaking in the bends; a big improvement.
About 15 years ago, the car went with its owner to the Auvergne, France. It drove around there for a while, but was stored the last few years. We recently got it out of the barn and technically put it back in order, with new brakes, tires and a few other things. Completely ready to have fun with it again.
