Our customers, like us, aren’t always just Citroën-focused. So sometimes we find something other than a 2CV in the barn, and sometimes the nice thing needs a new owner. If we like the nice thing too, we’re happy to help sell it. Like this adorable Renault Dauphine. What a lovely little car.

Long ago, it was repainted over a particularly good base, so without filler. The underbody is just as neat as the top, and the interior matches it seamlessly. And it’s all completely original and unrestored—wonderfully honest.

The Dauphine, from the second year of production, had already been pampered by an enthusiast in France and ended up at a dealership in Brabant in 1994. The car was occasionally driven there, but it was mostly on display in the showroom.

A few years ago, it ended up with an enthusiast on Texel, and then with a like-minded person on the same island.

It drives well, the 32 hp rumbles nicely in the back. It deserves to be more outdoors with its next owner. Just to brighten up the landscape, because that’s what it does! Here in the garage and during the drives we did, it immediately attracted sympathetic attention.
