Givors, near Lyon, is where this R4 rolled out of the dealership early 1990. It drove a short distance north into the mountains to Montagny and remained there with its first owner until 2010. But where else did it end up?

There’s quite a bit of documentation, allowing us to track its progress fairly well. In 2007, it had covered approximately 32,000 km and was serviced. In 2010, it was transferred to its next owner.

He took it to Corsica, where it ended up in a town with one of the most elegant names I’ve ever encountered, Prunelli de Fium’orbu, right on the beautiful coast. There, it was tested at the local inspection station at approximately 46,000 km and passed.

In 2016, it moved to Vlaardingen, with 52,000 km on the odometer, then to Leiden, then to Gouda with 62,000 km, and now it shines here in Wormer. With only 66,000 km of life experience.

In its joyful life, in all sorts of beautiful villages and towns, an occasional scratch has been repaired, but otherwise, it has remained remarkably pristine. The interior is also beautifully original.

Mechanically, it has been well-maintained, and we’ll do the same just before it leaves the building. Where will it go now?
