Old looks, modern technology. A Citroën HY has a fantastic, distinctive appearance and is perfectly usable in all its forms for all sorts of purposes, from food trucks to campervans. However, the slow 4-cylinder diesel or petrol engine and 3-speed gearbox don’t really propel it to great heights and are quite noisy. Deceleration and steering are also quite a challenge.

That’s why we replaced the drivetrain in this HY with that of a modern electric van, and included assisted disc brakes, and power steering. Now you can drive away effortlessly. It feels modern and familiar, yet with a distinctive look.

78 kWh of on-board batteries, which, depending on your driving style, can take you 250 km (or more?). With CCS fast charging, you can go from 10-80% in 40 minutes, or you can use the 22kW 3-phase charger if you have more time.

We built it for a sustainable gardening project where it would also be used as a buffer battery, but unfortunately, the project didn’t get off the ground. So now you can link your plans to it. Build your dream campervan? Turn it into a food truck, or maybe take organic vegetables to the market? It’s up to you.
