Ami 8 Berline Club
In 1969, the Ami 8 succeeded the Ami 6. The car had a more streamlined design, but technically built on the 35 hp engine and other technology from the last model of its predecessor. After a few months of production, the drum brakes were replaced by disc brakes, making it even more modern.

Above the standard model range was the Club model. It had a slightly more luxurious interior and various trims on the exterior, on the doors, and in line with the rear wings. The seats were upholstered in a mix of fabric and imitation leather.

This Club hit the road at the end of 1971 and was painted Albatros Beige for the new 1972 model year. The paint had been redone at some point during its life, but otherwise, the car remains fairly original and well-maintained.

Mr. Du Lac from the Beziers area must have noticed this, as he bought the car in 2009 for his considerable collection. This consisted mainly of Citroën Amis, and the 8 Berline was well represented. Most of the cars had a static existence, but this Club was regularly maintained and was inspected and insured until 2015. The mileage also increased, so it was actually driven, at least 19,000 km since 2012.

In 2019, the collection was sold, as far as I know, due to the death of Mr. Du Lac. A number of cars came to the Netherlands through various channels, and we have owned several. About ten ended up in a Dutch collection. After a few years of storage in the depot, these cars are now back on the road. They will beautify Dutch roads!

The Ami has been fully technically checked here, and has been fitted with new tires and a Dutch registration.
