A Charleston, the chic 2CV, shining in Rouge Delage et Noir, with chrome headlights and the several shiny details. It appealed to a completely different audience than before and gained its own fan base. But everything of value and beauty is defenseless, even to corrosion.

This Charleston started its career in ’82. Later in its life, deterioration gradually increased, making new parts necessary.

The floors were renewed, an inner wing and other panels were welded in. A galvanized chassis was fitted as well. It was ready for years of enjoyment again. Only what to do with the paint, weathered and sometimes missing.

Maybe they were out of budget for the ultimate makeover, with a fresh coat of paint, or they were focused on its beauty within? Anyway, the roller rolled the original colors over the panels. Not as bright as before, but ready to be enjoyed.

One of our customers did that year after year, and eventually the children did too. Lately it didn’t get out of the barn a lot, so now we’re looking for someone else who sees its underlying beauty.
