Restoring it to (almost) new can be a great plan, especially if the car in question is really in need of it. But if you have the choice to simply leave a car as it has been driving around for decades, then that is our preference. This 2cv is an example of that.

It was born in 1958 and drove around the Haute-Loire department. It stayed there until 2004, when it moved to Puy-de-Dôme, slightly further north. It then traveled to Pays-Bas, even further north, in 2017.

In France the 2cv drove in mountainous areas. Maybe that’s why it was fitted with a few PO (Pays d’Outre-mer) options, a rougher bumper and an oil bath air filter. Sometimes this version was also equipped with a reinforced chassis, but this is not easy to see from the outside. It may also be that the later owner installed them. In any case, he made the 2CV technically ready and driveable during the period of his ownership.

That was nice for us, because with a new battery and fresh gasoline it was running and driving quickly. Of course we will put new tyres on it and pamper the rest of the technique.

We leave the rest as it is as much as possible, until you – the new owner – decide with us how we will further finish it. The stated price is for the car as it is, as we proceed it will get higher.
