Lovely cheerful and fresh blue, this 2CV in Bleu Lagune. Since 2009 it has brightened up the Dutch landscape. Before that it toured around Tours in Central France.

After years of being delivered with drum brakes all around, the 2CV finally got disc brakes in model year ’82. And with the green brake fluid LHM, as was used in the Citroëns with spring spheres. The Citroën garage noticed this in their turnover, because these brakes really needed a lot less maintenance. Especially because the brake fluid does not attract moisture.

The car came on the road in November 1981, the model year always started after the Paris Motor Show in September. It is of the simplest model, the Spécial, with a black roof, black leatherette on the benches and round headlights.

The 2CV is unrestored and rust-free. Mostly still in its original paint, but with a number of large scratches. Fortunately, you don’t see them first, because the fresh colour blinds you…
