Untouched, beautifully hidden in a barn and therefore still so finely original. Not repainted, not fiddled with, just wonderfully original and honest. Like this AZAM Export, a rare find.

The AZAM was delivered from 1963, a 2cv with a more luxurious finish. In Belgium even available with a larger engine, the AZAM 6. In France they kept the standard 18 hp engine until the end. In the run-up to the introduction of the Dyane in the summer of 1967, the AZAM Export was introduced and only available for a few months.

It got a sleek black dashboard and steering wheel, more stylish door handles and rectangular indicators on the front wings. With white glasses, in contrast to the orange ones of the other (Belgian) models.

There was a choice of benches or chairs in fabric or imitation leather, and it was even possible to choose drive shafts with homokinetic joints, instead of the old school and jiggling ones. This example has those axles, which makes it much smoother to drive than its less fortunate friends.

You are already sitting comfortably on the seats with red imitation leather, with your hands on the beautiful black steering wheel, listening to the softly simmering engine. While the suspension is very enthusiastic, but the friction shocks dampen just enough to keep it decent. Automotive delight.

It really is a kind of time capsule, taking you back to the late 1960s when the 2cv drove near Cahors. In 1988 it came to M. Prin, who sold it to a Dutchman in France in 1995, with only 53,000 km on the clock. This enthusiast cherished the car, added another 6,000 km to it and recently allowed us to take it over (accompanied by a beautiful original Panhard). Because it never left the department, it also has a beautifully painted license plate, without holes in the panels.

You may have already noticed in the text that I am quite enthusiastic about the AZAM, even very happy with it. It will be for sale for an enthusiast, but first we will enjoy it for a while and we will see how we can make it even better with some technical attention and a good cleaning. But feel free to come and have a look and enjoy.
