Whiter than white, radiant, like a swan. Although the 2CV was Citroën’s ugly duckling according to a journalist, where they otherwise only designed swans, Citroën dared to deliver the duckling in swan white in 1970. It suits it well, especially with the red, contrasting interior. The roof of course in the colour of the paint, as was customary at the time.

Of course the duckling has lost some of its radiant white appearance, but after a good polishing the dirt disappeared and a large part of the shine returned. In some places the paint is a bit thin. But it still looks brilliant. The beautiful red interior, specific for the late AZ, also shows some wear. But with needle and thread you can still make it presentable yourself. Whether you want to replace the original roof is also up to you.

Technically we have already pampered it, it drives wonderfully smoothly again. Of course it’s not very quick, because only 18 hp. New tires, brakes, maintenance and a fresh battery were fitted. Nothing needed to be done to the construction because it is in perfect condition and has not been welded.

Given the painted registration and date of the series , it was sold new in department 12, Aveyron and stayed there until 2002. Robert Bonnefis from Rodez probably sold it at some point, because he left his sticker on the back. In ’86 it came into the hands of Mr. Marty, in a town just above Rodez. He kept it going and had it inspected for the last time in 2002.

In the same year it was sold to a Dutch collector, who picked it up himself in the sunny south. After that it was on display for part of the time, and for another part it was in storage. Now it was allowed to continue on its way, we are looking for a new owner for it. As mentioned, we have already done most of the work and it is technically ready. We can also do the last exterior part in consultation, but only when the new owner has decided how; After all, it’s only original once!
