A 2cv makes some noise, we actually enjoy it. But if you drive it (semi) daily, it can get annoying. To tease a little, we often advice to invest either a very small or a very large amount of money, on ear plugs or on an electric 2cv… 

The previous owner bought this 2cv at a colleague 2cv-specialist, with the restoration just finished. It had been completely repainted, the chassis was changed and the bad spots in the body had been repaired. Technically it had gotten some attention as well.

He first only drove it for recreation, but used it for commuting more and more; because he enjoyed it so much. Just the amount of engine noise bothered him, so he took serious action. He studied the options in methods and materials. But first the car had to be leak-free; if water gets under the isolation, the new floors will start rotting again.

And a miracle happened, with some effort his 2cv stayed dry (and that doesn’t happen easily with a 2cv). So the isolation was allowed in. He chose some professional stuff, which he applied properly. The bulkhead , the floors and the trunk floor; all were covered and got a neat finish. And now it’s nice and quiet.

After a few years of use, not in the salt, he fell in love with another beautiful Citroën and suddenly was short of space. So now you have the chance of touring around in silence.
