A few years ago, one of our customers picked up a yellow 2cv4 Spécial near Rouen. His previous 2cv had only just been sold. He immediately brought the new acquisition to us, as he wanted to restore it himself, but would like to leave the welding up to us. At first sight we had to swallow…

There was really almost nothing left of the car. The chassis completely crumbled, just like the panels. The technique? It had had a very hard life. And the body had also become a bit lighter. Should you still put any effort in such a project? Yes of course! It’s a Special without a third side window. You have to try to save them.

Thus happened. With a lot of new metal, taking specific parts of with care, and welding them in again, an almost new body was built. The chassis was replaced by a galvanized one and all technology was overhauled and/or modernized.

For example, the rather slow engine was replaced by a more potent VGS 650cc block from Belgium and it received a matching gearbox with disc brakes.

A lot of time and the necessary banknotes were thrown at it, with result: it looks beautiful and fresh again.

After driving for a while, a new adventure beckons, because our customer actually enjoys being busy the most. If you have it the other way around and prefer carefree driving; it is ready to go.
