The Citroen Namco Pony from some distance might look like a Mehari but has a metal body and the chassis of an AK (truckette). You can have the same kind of fun with it! This Namco Pony is a pickup version with a bench for 3 persons, they were also available with a metal top and sides.

They were built in the NAMCO factory in Thessaloniki and were a Greek icon during the seventies and eighties. It was the transition from using a mule to an affordable pick up for local farmers. Models were also specially made for the army, police and public services: it was an all-rounder. Currently it has become rare in Greece as well.

This Pony has been driving around Crete and was in service with an olive farmer in the Agios Nikolaos area (one of the driest and warmest areas of Crete). After the secretary of the Cretan historic car club had bought it (preservation of mobile heritage), he restored it. Yes, there’s a Greek way of doing things, so the restoration was done mostly practical. The Pony stayed within the club and ended up with a Dutch member living in Crete, owning it for the last 4 years. Recently he took it with him to Holland and had it imported here.

The canvas top and doors can easily be taken off, so you can load your barrels of olive oil much easier. If you fold down the windscreen as well, this will dramatically influence the air resistance, and you will eat a lot of flies while driving…

We deliver it with EU-registration, fully serviced and with tailor-made winter cover.
