The model between the 2cv and the DS. Luxurious lines, soft seats, more powerful technology.

Compact design with a Z-line that gave headroom to the passengers, while still keeping the boot lid accessible. Later the hatchback solved this problem in a more businesslike way, but less charming.

It came out in ’61, the advertising campaign also focused on female drivers, a newly mined target group. Pour Vous Madame.

This one is from the second year and is experienced in live. Processes like corrosion, light decomposition and wear are not unfamiliar to the car. Few are 57 years old and untouched, this Ami must have experienced wonderful adventures.

The region, department 13 Bouches-du-Rhône, invites to a romantic life. Close to the Mediterranean Sea and Marseille, the south of France. The Ami was registered there at the end of the 1970s, and the years before must have been in the vicinity. The stickers on the windshield show ‘96 as the last year of use.

We spend a mere 30 minutes on the engine and it was running again. The rusty parts require a little more work, but it is worth the effort. Many parts are easily available; a new floor, a windscreen frame and even the beautiful “feuilles de houx” cloth. The chassis is still solid and the polyester roof is intact. No doubt you dare to take on this adventure, we’ll talk you through it…
